Navigating Parenting: Raising Children with Complex Medical Needs

Raising children with Complex Medical Needs is a program focusing on the joys and challenges of parenting children/youth with complex medical needs. Children with complex medical needs may include, but is not limited to those with:

  • Feeding tubes
  • Tracheostomy
  • Mechanical ventilation
  • Seizure disorder
  • Life threatning or chronic conditions requiring nursing care

This group will provide parents with a safe place to connect with others facing similar issues. The purpose of this group is to focus on the parents emotional and social well-being while they navigate their parenting journey. There will be guided weekly discussions on topics such as the joys and challenges of parenting children with complex needs, self care, connecting with your child, mental health and wellness, and creating support networks.

This program is for all parents of children with complex medical needs, regardless of the child’s age, or whether the child is in the parent’s care.
